In 2011, the death of Sion Milosky rocked the small and interconnected international of large-wave browsing. That one of the most prepared and toughest charging surfers ought to die became an awakened name. One Ocean International Watermanship Course

Growing up browsing and spearfishing in Western Australia, Joe Knight joined the Australian Navy at 19, first as a diver, then as a paramedic. After leaving the Navy, he worked in the Oil and Gas Industry as a survival trainer for the helicopter underwater rescue education centers. However, the elderly 30 Knight had enough of the enterprise. “I wanted to begin my commercial enterprise based on my passions and enjoy,” he tells Surfline. “I blended coaching, survival education, freediving, and surfing and dreamed up these guides.”

That was back in 2012, and within the intervening years, the One Ocean International Watermanship publications have evolved into one of the most comprehensive ocean courses on the planet. “Whatever your discipline, be it surfing, surf pictures, freediving, or ocean swimming, we can suit the schooling to suit your wishes and provide you with the broadest training in preferred watermanship viable,” says Knight.

The courses began in Byron Bay, but now there may be a year-spherical calendar in Margaret River, charter boat adventurers in Western Australia, and one in New Zealand.

Surf Fitness, Nazare

You received’t be ready to paddle out at 50-foot Nazaré after a four-day direction, but you’ll be in the far higher region to address any swells that do come your way.
